Beyond the endless motifs I find in the constantly changing bedroom, I come across other things as I wander from room to room that can stop me in my tracks. The first two here are paintings of my studio room from memory and knowledge of something I saw in the middle of the night on my way to the bathroom. After the first night of seeing it, I would make sure to note my impressions on other nights as I worked on them during the day. We also rearranged the entire apartment at one point, putting the studio into the living room, the office into the bedroom and the bedroom into the studio. The kitchen stayed put at the time, but I might play with that idea in the near future. I also am stopped by things found in the kitchen or grocery store, one of my few reasons for leaving the motif-filled house, and those end up as stilllifes.
